Grandma/Boogie's Info...

I am already spayed, a special needs pet, in need of an experienced adopter, up to date with shots, good with dogs, and good with cats.

Grandma/Boogie's Story...
Boogie (we call her "Grandma") is a 22-year-old sweetheart. She was dropped off at a county shelter to die and would have been euthanized, but she's still got a lot of life in her and still has more love to give. She was brought to San Diego where she is living in a foster home, waiting for that special someone who is willing to give her a forever home. She's a small black and white tuxedo cat.

She was neglected by the people who previously had her and lost an eye. She needed some care but she has been cleaned up by the vet and doesn't have any serious issues and is not on any medications.

She purrs constantly and immediately loves everyone she meets. She loves to find a spot in the sun and sleep there for hours. She currently has a heated bed and it is her favorite thing in the world. She loves people and likes to sit next to you and be petted.

She often uses her litterbox, but sometimes the poor old girl just can't make it. She doesn't spray or mark though and doesn't scratch. She is unable to get onto furniture because of her age. She is up to date on her shots, is spayed and microchipped.

Because of her age she does need an experienced adopter who can be gentle with her. She seems to like all cats and dogs but is too fragile for any dogs or cats who would be too rough with her.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Grandma/Boogie, a Vista American Shorthair cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a American Shorthair for sale in Vista, or seeking a American Shorthair cat from a breeder in Vista.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Vista already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Vista breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even American Shorthair breeders who help with American Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Vista paves the way for another one to be saved.
