Rob's Story...
** ADOPTION PENDING **
When Rob was taken into the Montgomery County shelter, their staff named him 'Handsome Rob'. That is Rob. When you meet him, you can't help but be taken in by his charm and beauty. He is the perfect size, has the most handsome face and the sweetest personality.

Because of Rob's previous life, he seems to have a fear of being abandoned again. Rob LOVES his human. He may attach himself to one person in your home more than the others but he is still loving to everyone he meets. Rob does not like to share his foster dad with the other dogs in his foster home so he would love being an only dog in your home. He does get along well with other dogs but might be happier without the perceived competition.

He is pretty laid back for a beagle and is not very vocal at all. As is typical beagle, he will let you know he's not very happy when you leave him, so an apartment will not work for Rob. He can be trusted in his foster home when the humans are gone and does not need to be kenneled in your absence. He will probably wait in the window all day for your return. You will be the center of his universe.

Rob is the perfect sized beagle weighing 21 lbs. and standing 14 inches tall. We estimate his age to be between 2 and 3 years old. He sailed through heart-worm treatment without missing a step. Even though Rob is dearly loved by all of the Houston Beagle Rescue volunteers that have met him, we know it's time for Rob to find a family of his own. If you think you might be the perfect human for this perfect young man, please apply soon.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Rob, a Houston Beagle dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Beagle for sale in Houston, or seeking a Beagle dog from a breeder in Houston.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Houston already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Houston breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Beagle breeders who help with Beagle rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Houston paves the way for another one to be saved.
