Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Thump, Thump, Thump, Thump…that’s my tail you hear thumping on the floor cuz I’m so happy to be in my nice, cozy and warm foster home. Can you guess what my name is? It’s THUMPER!
I’m a mellow senior beagle boy; that’s what my foster mom calls me. All you have to do is pet me and I just melt away by rolling over onto my back…I’m all yours! I’m about 8 years old so that makes me an AARB Beagle with Midwest BREW. I am forever grateful to Midwest BREW for rescuing me!
When I came to my foster family, I had a couple of health issues like a double yeast infection in both ears. We are still working on getting this cleared up. My foster family even switched me to Grain Free dog food to see if this helps…stay tuned for updates. I was also heartworm positive and have gone for a couple of treatments already to help me. I should be retested in a couple of months. This means I will have to be given a heartworm pill every month for the rest of my life. That’s OK though because my foster family gives their beagle mixes a heartworm pill every month too! Plus I have arthritis in my left front paw so I walk a little funny sometimes.
I never had any accidents in the house before my heartworm treatment but since I’ve returned, I’ve had several so I’m working on my housetraining again. I’m hoping to be 100% in no time. I was also great in the crate too but now I absolutely do not like it. I started panting and panting when they put me in there, so now I have the run of the house with the rest of the pack. When it’s bedtime, we all go into my foster parent’s bedroom to curl up for a good nights sleep.
My foster family has two resident beagle mixes that I get along great with. The female beagle mix can be a little bossy at times but I just ignore her and everything is fine. I even snuck up on the love seat in my foster parent’s bedroom with her on it and she let me stay.
I’m great with kids of all ages. My foster parents have a 2 yr old granddaughter who I love. When she comes for a visit she likes to put a leash on me so we can walk around the house together. She calls me Baby because my foster mom said that I was her baby boy. Isn’t that cute?
When I’m not napping in one of the many dog beds here, you may catch me looking out the BIG kitchen window for my friends, Bambi and Flower. We’ve seen Bambi several times but I haven’t seen Flower and my foster parents would like to keep it that way. What’s so bad about Flower? There are foxes and raccoons here along with plenty of birds to watch too!
Please consider sponsoring me to help Midwest BREW with my expenses. I owe them my life. Soon I’ll be someone’s best friend!
