Notes from Ivy's foster mom: Ivy is approximately 3 years old and is a lab mix. She is very sweet tempered and calm. She is housetrained and has been socialized to other dogs and cats. She is also crate trained. When she first came into foster care she was frightened, wary and would not make eye contact. Within a day or so she was accepting treats from my hand and began to enjoy being petted.
She is still a bit timid at first with new people but will now relax and stay in the room, lying down with my other two dogs. She has been an excellent mother.
She is very smart and listens quite attentively. When I come in the room she does a little "happy dance". Nothing too rambunctious, but very cute and endearing. She will be a loyal companion to the person who adopts her.

Our niche is rescuing elusive dogs who have been living on the streets of Dallas, Tx. We spend days, weeks and sometimes months trying to catch a certain dog. The dogs then move into loving foster homes so they can be part of a family and learn more about home life. We have found that these dogs are extremely resilient and quickly adapt to life off the streets and make great additions to a family!
The dogs are vaccinated, de-wormed, microchipped, spayed/neutered and heartworm tested (and treated if positive). We spend a lot of time and energy getting these dogs off the streets so are very diligent in who they go to. We want to make sure it's going to be the ideal fit for both the adopter and the dog. Our adoption fee of $200 covers vaccinations (3 rounds for puppies), de-wormer, microchip and spay/neuter. Requirements include completed application and a home visit.
