Shiloh's Story...
Why Choose me?
Shiloh arrived just as we were leaving so we weren’t able to spend much time with her, but she was a pleasure to be around, even for a few minutes. An Athens resident found Shiloh and another dog wandering around but couldn’t find their home, so here they are. Shiloh’s companion was too nervous for pictures or for interacting with new people, so the Animal Control staff is letting him (or her?) rest in a kennel until he or she is ready to be social. Shiloh isn’t having a problem adjusting, although she seems a bit quiet and shell shocked. She enjoyed being with us and getting some pets, and as she gets more comfortable she’ll get more animated. She couldn’t be fluffier or prettier!

Act quickly to adopt Shiloh. Pets at this Shelter may be held for only a short time.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Shiloh, a Athens Labrador Retriever/Great Pyrenees dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Labrador Retriever/Great Pyrenees for sale in Athens, or seeking a Labrador Retriever/Great Pyrenees dog from a breeder in Athens.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Athens already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Athens breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Labrador Retriever/Great Pyrenees breeders who help with Labrador Retriever/Great Pyrenees rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Athens paves the way for another one to be saved.
