Ruff Ruff! My name is Evie

Little Evie is a Cattle Dog mix (mom was a Cattle Dog/Corgi mix, dad is unknown) who was born on 12/15/2012 and she one lucky little girl! Evie’s mom came to Fuzzy Pawz Rescue from a high kill shelter in New Mexico. Fuzzy Pawz was not told that mom was pregnant, but when mom showed up at the foster home with 4 puppies we gladly took the entire family in. The entire family (mom & pups) were very ill for about 5 weeks and were on lots of medications, but with some major TLC by their foster parents and great vet care they all came through with flying colors as a happy, healthy and fun little family. Now that they are older Evie and her siblings are ready to find their forever homes.

Evie is a follower. She does not like to be on her own and would be best in a family with another canine member to show her the ropes. Evie is a mild mannered girl, but will give her two cents if push comes to shove. Evie is very respectful of the adult dogs in her foster home and avoids them unless they are in a calm state. She most likely would do fine in a home with a cat that will stand it’s ground – she will need to be taught immediately that a cat is not a toy to chase.

Evie is very aloof with people unless they have something she wants. She enjoys affection, but does not seek it out, preferring to be with the other dogs. Evie does not have the cattle dog tendency to bond very strongly with people and will not be a velcro type dog. She is confident and likes people but will be the type of dog that love to play with you, learn with you but will not be underfoot all the time.

Evie sleeps all night with her siblings in a crate and is working on her potty training. Evie has a soft fluffy coat more like an Australian Shepherd.

Evie has been given her first set of puppy shots but has not yet been spayed due to her age. Adopter will be required to sign a spay addendum and pay a $100 deposit that will be refund upon proof of spay by 6 months of age (5/15/2013)
