Norbert's Story...
I came to AWLMC from the Montgomery County Humane Society. I was found as a stray. I am a handsome gray tabby with white feet. I am very playful and active. I am a ball of energy; always on the go. My favorite activity is playing. I love toys: balls, stings & laser points. I enjoy being petted too, especially when you are in bed or reading a book. I like to be the center of attention! I will sleep next to you in bed at night. I talk all the time. I have lots to say and want everyone to listen to me. Please come see me and my friends at the shelter today. I was born in 2012.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Norbert, a Gaithersburg Domestic Shorthair cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in Gaithersburg, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair cat from a breeder in Gaithersburg.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Gaithersburg already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Gaithersburg breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Gaithersburg paves the way for another one to be saved.
