Puddin's Story...
Puddin’ is a sweet, playful, and loving, nine-month-old, 34-pound, female, vanilla and chocolate pit bull terrier-mix pup looking for a loving guardian. Puddin' was confiscated from her original caretaker when a neighbor caught him beating her with a broom stick. The neighbor was able to capture the cruelty on video and the guy was arrested and charged with animal cruelty. Puddin’ landed at Chicago Animal Care and Control, but her life took a turn for the better when she landed in a foster home with FCACC. She is doing really well with housebreaking, crate-training and manners. She loves snuggling and playing with her toys. She already knows how to sit on command, and takes treats nicely from your fingers. She harbors no grudges for people after her prior abuse. She loves everyone – including children - and is full of happy tail wags. She would do best as the only pet in the home so she can get the training, attention, love and exercise that all young dogs need. She can be very reactive on leash, so she’s best in a quiet neighborhood … and she likes to chase cats, so best with only the boldest of felines. Puddin’ is healthy, spayed, up-to-date on vaccines and micro-chipped. If you're interested in meeting and possibly adopting Puddin' please contact her foster mom Kat at or 312-823-9930. Her adoption fee of $200 benefits the Friends of Chicago Animal Care & Control.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Puddin, a Chicago American Pit Bull Terrier dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a American Pit Bull Terrier for sale in Chicago, or seeking a American Pit Bull Terrier dog from a breeder in Chicago.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Chicago already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Chicago breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even American Pit Bull Terrier breeders who help with American Pit Bull Terrier rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Chicago paves the way for another one to be saved.
