Dewey the Pirate Kitty's Story...
Dewey is a sweet, gentle little girl! She was found with her sisters by two caring people in Brooklyn who took them in, fed them and kept them safe. Then they brought her to Brooklyn Animal Action to find her forever home.

Dewey had a very bad eye infection as a baby, and unfortunately by the time she got to a vet, the eye couldn't be saved. But that hasn’t stopped this kitty! It’s almost like Dewey has to show that she can do anything any other kitty can--she plays, runs around and cuddles just the same as the others, and maybe more. She's kind of inspiring in how she doesn't let her injury get in her way! She just loves to cuddle and be held and is easy as pie. Dewey would love to find a home with her sister Daisy, but she’d be good with other cats too, and also with kids.

Dewey is spayed, tested negative for FIV/FeLV, and has all her shots. She’s all ready to go home with you!

If you’d like to meet this sweetheart, please contact Sheri, at BAAadoptions@gmail.com.

Thanks so much for thinking of a rescued kitty!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Dewey the Pirate Kitty, a Brooklyn Domestic Shorthair kitten was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in Brooklyn, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair kitten from a breeder in Brooklyn.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Brooklyn already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Brooklyn breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Brooklyn paves the way for another one to be saved.
