Nala's Story...
Nala was found stray and half starved. Her foster mom has fattened her up a bit but she still needs a pounds to be a nice healthy weight. She currently weighs 50 lbs.She is about a year and a half old, housebroken (with supervision) and crate trained. She has learned how to play with other dogs and is good with kids and cats. We believe that she is a shepherd mix and she has a bobbed tail, but she also looks like she may have some collie or golden retriever in her. Her foster mom says that she is a very sweet girl...enjoys playing with other dogs and loves to get affection from humans. She is being fostered in Kentucky.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Nala, a Brattleboro Australian Shepherd/Collie dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Australian Shepherd/Collie for sale in Brattleboro, or seeking a Australian Shepherd/Collie dog from a breeder in Brattleboro.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Brattleboro already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Brattleboro breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Australian Shepherd/Collie breeders who help with Australian Shepherd/Collie rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Brattleboro paves the way for another one to be saved.
