MR. FRIENDLY's Story...
Mr. Friendly is an 8-month old tabby cat who absolutely lives up to his name! He is a social, playful guy who loves other cats as well as people. He grew up as part of a group of abandoned cats in Gowanus living in a parking lot. A caring woman living in the area has been feeding them daily and contacted Infinite Hope for help. Just when Infinite Hope was about to rescue Mr. Friendly, he disappeared for 4 days and we all feared the worst. It turned out that he was trapped in a storage shed -- hungry, thirsty and scared. He was so happy when he was found by his caretaker that he jumped into her arms! He is now being fostered with his friend, Miss Lady, who is also available for adoption. Miss Lady has been a little nervous about her move indoors and Mr. Friendly has been helping her to adjust by snuggling with her and grooming her every day. He is a true sweetie. When he's not busy romping or snuggling, he likes to relax by watching TV (seriously, he loves TV!). Mr. Friendly is neutered, up to date with vaccines and has tested negative for FIV/FeLV. He would love to go to a home where he can continue to have cat friends.

About Our Rescue Group...
Infinite Hope is an all-volunteer IRS-approved 501(c)(3) not-for-profit animal rescue. Since its inception in early 2004, Infinite Hope has placed over 1,000 animals in permanent and loving homes. Because we are an all volunteer organization 100% of our funds goes towards the housing, care and placement of our animals.

Our Board and volunteers donate their time and resources toward the cause of caring for and finding homes for abandoned animals, eliminating the problem of stray, unaltered animals in New York City, and caring for special needs animals until a permanent or foster home can be found.

While in our care, all of our animals receive high-quality food, shelter, positive interaction with our volunteers and all necessary medical care, including a complete vet exam, spaying and neutering, (if 5 months of age or older) and testing for communicable feline diseases (FIV and FeLV).

We are fortunate to have a small adoption center at Hope Veterinary Clinic at 390 Atlantic Avenue, Brooklyn. In addition we have a foster network so that our animals can receive care and attention until we have placed them with a loving and permanent home.

All adopters are carefully screened. Volunteers spend time with potential adopters and available animals, to ensure a good match for all. We are committed to a 100% “no-kill” philosophy and will not accept animals beyond our capacity to care for them.

Come Meet Our Pets...
Play dates with our animals are by appointment only. This may either be at a vet clinic or foster home depending on where the animal currently resides. If you are interested in adopting any of our animals please send us an email at: infinitehope@infinitehoperescue.org
Our Adoption Process...
Potential adopters are required to complete our adoption application; once an application has been approved, the adopter must sign our adoption agreement. If adopting a kitten or puppy under 5-6 months of age, the adopter must agree to spay or neuter once the pet is old enough for the procedure.

Additionally, we require a minimum donation of $150 per cat and $200 per dog. This amount represents just a small fraction of the actual costs we incur for each animal under our care, and helps us to continue our ongoing efforts.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

MR. FRIENDLY, a Manhattan Domestic Shorthair cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in Manhattan, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair cat from a breeder in Manhattan.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Manhattan already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Manhattan breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Manhattan paves the way for another one to be saved.
