Jake's Story...
Jake is a 10 month old German Shepherd mix who weighs about 45 pounds. Jake is housetrained! Jake is a puppy so he likes to chew so he needs lots of bones and toys. He will scratch on a door to get your attention to go to another room. Jake is full of energy and a playful, happy boy. Jakes loves walks and does great on a leash. He does like to bark. Jake does not like cats but he warms up to other dogs though. He will go in his crate but may whine a bit but he is getting used to it though and getting better. Jake is also working on his training to sit, lay, come, etc.

The $85 adoption fee includes spay/neuter surgery, up-to-date vaccinations, microchip, rabies tag, heartworm test, and 1st month's flea/tick & heartworm preventative. Please complete an adoption application at, or email if you would like to make this dog part of your family!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Jake, a San Antonio German Shepherd Dog puppy was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a German Shepherd Dog for sale in San Antonio, or seeking a German Shepherd Dog puppy from a breeder in San Antonio.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in San Antonio already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a San Antonio breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even German Shepherd Dog breeders who help with German Shepherd Dog rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in San Antonio paves the way for another one to be saved.
