Valentine's Story...
Why Choose me?
Valentine came in on Valentine’s Day. She has a note on her kennel stating that she’s lost her home and is looking for a sweetheart to give her a warm and loving home. When I first met Valentine, she was ready to come out. What I learned is that this sweet girl has lots of energy. She walked well on a leash, but when we reached an interaction pen, it was time to run! I couldn’t help but think what a great running partner she would be for an active person. She also loves to chase balls and will bring them back. She might run a few circles around you before she drops it, but she does drop it pretty close by. She also likes chasing ropes, ring toys, and stuffed animals. I had so much fun playing with Valentine. This smart girl also sits on command. She wasn’t crazy about the treats I had, but she’d sit every time. Come play with Valentine today. She’s a beautiful girl that needs a new forever home where she can run, play, and be loved.

Act quickly to adopt Valentine. Pets at this Shelter may be held for only a short time.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Valentine, a Athens Labrador Retriever/Border Collie dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Labrador Retriever/Border Collie for sale in Athens, or seeking a Labrador Retriever/Border Collie dog from a breeder in Athens.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Athens already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Athens breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Labrador Retriever/Border Collie breeders who help with Labrador Retriever/Border Collie rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Athens paves the way for another one to be saved.
