Sam's Story...
FOSTER LOCATION: Boise, ID

Sam is a female, 7yr old, 70 pound Saint Bernard/Lab mix. As a puppy someone threw this beautiful girl in a dumpster and left her to die; lucky for her some wonderful people heard her crying and rescued her. She was quickly adopted by a family but now a divorce has left her homeless once again. Fuzzy Pawz Rescue believes there is a loving family out there who will give her a home that will last forever – is that you?

Our girl Sam is one very smart girl, she even graduated at the top of her dog training classes! She knows sit, stay, down, go, come and potty to name a few. Sam is house trained and sleeps through the night in or out of her crate.

Sam loves to run and play outside in her yard, she especially loves to run and play in the sprinklers. She also enjoys going for walks and loves to ride in the car. When she hears the jingle from her collar/leash, she gets very excited, knowing she gets to go somewhere.

Sam lives with 2 cats, and gets along well with them; however she hasn't often had the opportunity to interact with other dogs. So an initial introduction to others takes a minute for her, but once she finds a friend, she is great.

Sam really likes people and loves her humans. She will give a low growl when someone she does not know comes to her home, but then is fine once she realizes that her people want them there. She has grown up with kids so she would probably enjoy living with other kids – we do require not kids in the household younger than 12.

Sam will come with her food, bowls, toys, beds. Please note that Sam is a big girl and eats a lot, she eats 3 cups of food a day so if you do not have the finances to feed her please do not apply. We would also strongly recommend that Sam go to an active household that will introduce her to new things, new people and give her an outlet for her natural energy.

Sam is in great health but has did have surgery about 4 or 5 years ago for a torn ACL from which she recovered fully..

If you can offer Sam a great forever home and can give her the love and affection she craves please fill out an adoption application at http://www.fuzzypawzrescue.com/adoptionapplication.htm

Sam has already been spayed and will be brought up to date on vaccinations before she is adopted.

There is a $40 adoption fee for Sam

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Sam, a Boise St. Bernard/Labrador Retriever dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a St. Bernard/Labrador Retriever for sale in Boise, or seeking a St. Bernard/Labrador Retriever dog from a breeder in Boise.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Boise already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Boise breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even St. Bernard/Labrador Retriever breeders who help with St. Bernard/Labrador Retriever rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Boise paves the way for another one to be saved.
