***** Missy desperately needs a foster or forever home! Please consider opening your heart and home to this wonderful girl!
Missy is a sweet, 2 year old petite Pit Bull mix and former teenage mom. Missy was saved from death row and is now happy and healthy, being fostered in Burbank, CA! She's a big cuddle bug who loves kisses, lounging in the sun, and de-fluffing stuffed toys. In under 3 months, she's learned sit, down, wait, stop, give me your paw, focus, stand, roll over, and down. She has recently mastered heel and is learning "drop it" and "enough" (re: barking). She is also up to date on all her shots, crate-trained, and house trained. She even pees on command!
Cats and squirrels are her kryptonite, although now that she's learned heel, she is a much better listener. She never learned to "speak dog," so she needs help navigating dog-to-dog interactions. For now, she should be an only pet, or with a young puppy only, and would be best around older kids. If Missy's forever family can be confident leaders and reinforce her training as needed, she will bring them infinite joy, love, and cuddles in return.

"Science may never comprehend the full extent of what dogs know about language, problem solving, the past, the future, God, time or philosophy. In the end, we must content ourselves with the fact that dogs know enough to be dogs -which is all that is really required of them." - Dr. Stanley Coren
Regardless of where a dog comes from, The Penny Foundation believes all dogs are worth saving, their "issues" are trainable, and people really can learn new tricks.
So whether it's from us or another rescue or shelter, Adopt Don't Shop! You can save a life!
We only place dogs in forever homes after...
