Meet LORA LEI!
This beautiful Black Lab mix girl is about 3 years old. She is about as sweet and demure as she can be. She is outgoing, has a sweet disposition and would make a wonderful family pup. LoraLei is super affectionate and LOVES to give kisses! Here's what her foster mom has to say about her:
'Laura is a very laid back girl, about 55lbs, happy,, good natured, and quite content with her own company. She is also happy to be around other dogs. She spends several hours a day lying in the shade with a rawhide, just enjoying her time outside. She loves walks, and gets really excited when you pick up a leash near her. She also loves her people, and is very affectionate with kisses and cuddles. Lying beside you while you work is one of her favorite things to do. She LOVES the water, and spends a lot of time in our kiddy doggy pool. She would be a great hiking companion.
She is always happy to go into her crate for a nap, and will sleep overnight in her crate from about 9 pm to 6 am, without a peep. She is very open to correction…if you tell her NO, she immediately stops whatever it is she is doing. Housetraining was a breeze for her…no accidents in the house. She is being fostered in a home with six other dogs, ranging from Chow to Chihuahua, and gets along fine with all of them. There are no dog aggression issues at all. She does not suffer from separation anxiety, so can amuse herself when she is left alone, provided with a kong or a rawhide. She is not a barker, except when someone is at the door.
Laura would be ideal for a family or single person who would be willing to walk her, and to treat her as part of the family. She is not overly demanding for attention, and is content to just be with you. She would be fine as an only dog, or with another dog companion. I would not want her with a very young child in the house, because she would probably play too rough. I have to watch her carefully when she is playing with the Chihuahuas, because she is so big that she could hurt them inadvertently by knocking them over. Kids over six or so would probably be fine, and she would most likely attach to them as her best buddy. As for cats…I wouldn’t be comfortable. She does have a prey drive, and chases the rabbits that come into our yard at times. '

Underdog Rescue of Az is an all volunteer organization dedicated to the rescuing and re-homing of abandoned and/or abused dogs.
We are a foster-based rescue, and do not maintain a physical base of operations. All of our animals are placed with loving, caring safe foster families until they are adopted. We are also an "All Breed" rescue, and do not discriminate based on breed, age, size, etc.
Underdog's mission also includes educating the public on the issue of animal welfare. We strive to promote shelter reform, spay and neuter education and emergency rescue information & assistance.
We attend multiple adoption events throughout the valley during Spring and Fall.
All potential adopters will be required to complete our Adoption Application, read and sign our Adopting Policies and Procedures, and participate in a home visit by one of our adoption representatives.
Underdog's Adoption Fees are as follows:
Dogs: Puppy - 8 yrs: $150.00
Seniors (8+ years): $125.00
