Henry's Story...
Henry is a 1 yr old neutered male rat terrier/dachshund mix. Henry was turned into a local shelter after being hit by a car. Henry's pelvis was broken and he spent several days at the vet's office being treated. After he was rescued by us, he spent six weeks confined to a crate in order for his pelvis to heal. He has been x-rayed again and the vet has cleared Henry for adoption. Henry's pelvis has healed but it is not in perfect condition. Because of this, Henry may need medication and/or surgery later on in his life. He will need an adopter committed to making sure he is comfortable as he gets older. Henry is a super sweet boy who likes to be cuddled but only after he is done running circles around the room. He loves to play with other dogs. Henry likes to wrestle...a lot. Henry is crate-trained but is not totally housebroken yet. Henry also does well with cats and if they will play with him, that's just fine with Henry. Henry is an energetic little sprite that is looking for a home to call his own.

About Our Rescue Group...
SparKy is a local, not for profit, no-kill, animal rescue. It takes a unique approach to animal rescue through the utilization of "foster homes" to house the animals. These foster homes provide the animals with a loving environment in which their needs are fully met. They also allow the foster parents to assess the temperament of the animals, as well as their individual needs, thus ensuring that the best permanent home possible is found.
Sparky is a true "No-Kill" rescue! Members of SparKy strongly believe in saving lives, and they will go to great lengths to protect animals. No-Kill rescues will ONLY euthanize an animal if it is recommended by a veterinarian due to illness beyond providing the animal a good quality of life, or due to a severe behavioral issue, such as extreme aggressiveness, that places humans and other animals at risk. SparKy will do everything in its power to save the life of an animal!
Members of SparKy have made it a mission, to join in with rescue groups and shelters across America, by focusing on our local community to reduce the number of animals killed each year. SparKy's goals are to educate the public about the importance of spaying and neutering pets, to educate the public about responsible pet ownership, and to rescue and re-home homeless adoptable pets.
