Apricot's Story...
The title for this poor cat should be blind, declawed and dumped!…..poor thing. 5 years old. The cat has a detached retina and the vet said it might reattach itself. This cat is mostly blind, but he does well in a 2 story house, he needs no work and is like any other cat, I know he sees some things, like shadows and whatever he bumps into, he is great for a person who doesn't move furniture a lot, he knows where his box is and food and does not seem impaired at first, he loves to talk, most verbal cat ever. He is a treasure (self sufficient).

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Apricot, a Riverhead Domestic Longhair cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Longhair for sale in Riverhead, or seeking a Domestic Longhair cat from a breeder in Riverhead.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Riverhead already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Riverhead breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Longhair breeders who help with Domestic Longhair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Riverhead paves the way for another one to be saved.
