Raffie's Story...
Call me Rafael, Raffe for short. I am 5 months old and am under 5 pounds. I am a little shy at first, but once I get to know you watch out, I can give kisses for a long time. I do need some training in the ways of a good pet, such as going potty outside, but I do know how to use a doggie door to go out and play. I haven't had much time on a leash yet, but I sure am willing to learn. If you would like to be my new parents please fill out an application at www.rescueachihuahua.com and my foster Mom will give you a call. I need a home where someone is home most of the time to give me proper training and where there aren't really young children. This is really important as most of us dogs in rescue were purchased by someone who didn't really have time for a new pet or had little kids that were too rough for us.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Raffie, a San Diego Chihuahua puppy was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Chihuahua for sale in San Diego, or seeking a Chihuahua puppy from a breeder in San Diego.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in San Diego already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a San Diego breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Chihuahua breeders who help with Chihuahua rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in San Diego paves the way for another one to be saved.
