Capone's Story...
Capone (A19138194) is the most adorable 2 year old white American Bulldog mix in ACCT Philly! He is a bit of a short-stack, weighing in at 43 lbs. He has the most kissable black spots on his little ears that are so disproportionately small to his face. He also has the widest Jack Nicholson-esque grin that we promise will light up your day! Capone is a volunteer favorite and once you get to know him, you will see why! We think that he is deaf, but he has proven a cinch to train using treats and hand signals. He aced “touch,” “sit,” and “find it” like an honor student! He loves to interact with other dogs. He’s had some great play dates at the shelter!

Because his legs are on the short side, he would love it if you would pick him up and plop him on your lap so you can give him the kisses and snuggles he deserves! He loves to bask in the sunshine, go for walks, and play with toys. He’s so cute with toys and makes happy Bulldog oinking and grunting noises! They are the epitome of happiness. He’s great on a leash and if he happens to want to just hang out and watch the parade pass by, he’ll let you know by planting his butt down and if needed, laying down. This is where the command “find it” comes in handy with treats, and he is great with that. But honestly, he has such a human personality and his face (oh those facial muscles get a workout!) is so expressive that you can’t help but decide that maybe you too should stop and smell the roses on your walk. Overall, he’s low to medium energy. He can jog, but not for distances. He loves people and he will love you too!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Capone, a Philadelphia American Bulldog/English Bulldog dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a American Bulldog/English Bulldog for sale in Philadelphia, or seeking a American Bulldog/English Bulldog dog from a breeder in Philadelphia.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Philadelphia already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Philadelphia breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even American Bulldog/English Bulldog breeders who help with American Bulldog/English Bulldog rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Philadelphia paves the way for another one to be saved.
