Reuben's Story...
Reuben is a 45 lb two year old lab / Aust. shepherd mix with all of the best attributes of both breeds. Smart, athletic, eager to please, friendly, alert, responsive, affectionate. Reuben enjoys daily exercise and would be a great running / walking / exercise partner for some lucky person. He has a special love of children and would love to be part of an active household. In his current foster home, Reuben spends days outside in the fenced in yard and nights inside when the family gets home from work. His best canine friend and playmate is the family's 6 yr old cattle dog. Although Reuben is currently living in Jackson, MS, transport to New England can easily be arranged through Animal Rescue Front. Why Adoption is a Great Option

Reuben, a Groton Labrador Retriever/Australian Shepherd dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Labrador Retriever/Australian Shepherd for sale in Groton, or seeking a Labrador Retriever/Australian Shepherd dog from a breeder in Groton.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Groton already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Groton breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Labrador Retriever/Australian Shepherd breeders who help with Labrador Retriever/Australian Shepherd rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Groton paves the way for another one to be saved.
