Diesel's Story...
Why Choose me?
When we walked up to Diesel’s run with a leash in hand, his tail was wagging and he was rarin’ to go! It was cold and windy and I don’t think Diesel had been out of his run all day, so as you can imagine he was ready for some fun. When we first entered the interaction pen Diesel ran around checking out every nook and cranny and smell. There was a rope toy in the pen, so I dangled it in front of him to see if he might be interested. Woo hoo, he was interested all right! Diesel is a master of the art of tug-of-war and, as you can tell by the size and strength of him, he’s pretty good at it. He was never possessive or aggressive with the rope though, just a focused player. We walked him on a heavy duty leash that is also made of thick rope, so of course he thought of it as a toy. It took some sneaky maneuvering to get it past that giant mouth and around his neck, but eventually we outsmarted him

Act quickly to adopt Diesel. Pets at this Shelter may be held for only a short time.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Diesel, a Athens Pit Bull Terrier dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Pit Bull Terrier for sale in Athens, or seeking a Pit Bull Terrier dog from a breeder in Athens.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Athens already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Athens breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Pit Bull Terrier breeders who help with Pit Bull Terrier rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Athens paves the way for another one to be saved.
