Kimmy's Story...
Why Choose me?

When I first saw Kimmy today, she put a smile on my face so quickly. She saw me approaching her run, and she knew I was about to take her out to play, so she started doing a little dance. Her two front paws made ‘click-click-click’ noises on the ground as she danced, it was almost as if she was tap dancing! When Kimmy and I first got to the interaction pen, I could tell that she definitely is a hound mix because her nose immediately went straight to the ground to sniff her surroundings. After about five minutes, though, she was ready to play! Rope toys are her thing. She loves rope toys, and she will play tug-of-war with you forever, if you let her. She doesn’t give up, either! Sweet Kimmy also gives the best hugs! She’ll wrap her arms around you and rest her head on your stomach to cuddle. It was a cold day today, but this girl really made me feel warm inside. Not only is she affectionate and loving, she is absolutely gorgeous! To me, it looked like she was wearing eyeliner on her eyes because they are so beautifully black. Kimmy is playful, but not rambunctious. She has all the good qualities, but in moderation. She would be perfect for just about anyone. Come on down and meet Kimmy today!

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Athens already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Athens breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Hound (Unknown Type)/Pit Bull Terrier breeders who help with Hound (Unknown Type)/Pit Bull Terrier rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Athens paves the way for another one to be saved.
