My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Rosie is a beautiful dog with the softest white coat and adorable spotted ears. When you enter her kennel to take her for a walk, she gives you appreciative gentle licks with her tongue. She has a devoted fan base of volunteers, some who come in especially for walking Rosie! Rosie walks well on a leash and she knows some basic obedience commands already. Rosie does have a sensitive side. She can be intimidated in some circumstances and will need reassurance that there’s nothing to be afraid of. Shelter environments can be stressful and we expect Rosie will be at her best in a calmer environment. She did spend a week at the home of a volunteer, where it is said she was a great guest. They did a slow controlled introduction to their own dog and that was an effective technique. Rosie has been somewhat inconsistent in her reaction to other dogs so it’s necessary to manage her interactions initially. We believe that Rosie will flourish in a home where she is given the attention and patient instruction that most young shelter dogs need. Rosie has lots of great potential to be someone’s best companion!
