Smokey's Story...
SMOKEY’S STORY

Smokey is a sweet little girl who is spayed and approximately 2-3 years old. She’d been seen living around a factory in Waterbury for about a year and deserves so much more than that.

Smokey craves human attention and loves to be held, cuddled and chirps when she’s happy. Smokey loves hanging out in her bed just looking out the window. Life’s been tough for Smokey over the last year or so and would desperately love to find a loving forever home.

Smokey recently tested negative for feline leukemia and AIDS and is up to date with her Rabies shot. She was given a long acting antibiotic for an ear abscess and the ear is looking much better. She was also diagnosed with a heart murmur (according to the Vet - Level 3 out of 6). Given her recent horrible living conditions, the ideal household would be a quiet one where Smokey is the only pet and would receive the undivided human attention that she truly deserves and craves.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Smokey, a Southington Russian Blue cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Russian Blue for sale in Southington, or seeking a Russian Blue cat from a breeder in Southington.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Southington already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Southington breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Russian Blue breeders who help with Russian Blue rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Southington paves the way for another one to be saved.
