I am already neutered, up to date with shots, and good with dogs.
Clyde was brought to the Shelter with a terribly embedded 'collar'. A thick leash was, twice, wrapped around his neck and cutting into the flesh. He was only about 5 months old when he arrived. The discomfort caused Clyde to act out and he smelled of infection. Our veterinarian preformed the necessary procedures to remove the infected tissue and stitched up Clyde's neck.
Shortly after the surgery - (most likely brought on by stress) - Clyde became very ill with Parvovirus. Luckily our staff caught it in the early stages and he was back in good health by the third day of quarantine.
Clyde is now 100% better and doing just fine! (With an almost 100% guarantee to never be re-infected with Parvo ever again!) He's developed new puppy pals at the shelter and has become a very sweet happy dog. Clyde is very cheeky, likes to talk and loves snuggle time!

The Great Slave Animal Hospital's Shelter is run by a great team of enthusiastic animal lovers! We have seen both the good and bad side of pet care and we choose to actively make a difference one microchip at a time! All are animals are either spayed or Neutered, Microchipped and Vaccinated prior to going to their forever home.
Visiting hours for the shelter animals if from 9:00am - 7:30pm Mondays to Fridays and from 10:00am to 5:00pm on Saturdays. We are closed to the public on Sundays.
The Adoption Process begins with the completion of our adoption questionnaire. All applications are reviewed by the Adoptions Coordinator. The Adoptions Coordinator reserves the right to either approve or decline an application at their discretion.
Once approved the adoption coordinator will contact the potential adopter to go over fees, contracts and other such legalities.
Adoption questionnaires are approved on a "first come, first serve" basis. That is to say that the first application for any specific animal is the first to be considered for approval.
Great Slave Animal Hospital is a Veterinary Clinic operating out of Yellowknife, Northwest Territories, Canada. We have been operating a "No-Kill" Shelter out of this business for the past 10 years. We rescue and adopt out approximately 225 animals per year. We work closely with other Shelters, humane socieities and animal rescue groups in within the Northwest Territories and Canada.
