Hello! My name is Butterfly
Important Note: Butterfly is best friends with Huckleberry. Please adopt both of them so they can stay together!
|Species:||Chinchilla||Color:||Silver Or Gray||Age:||Adult|
I am good with kids and good with small animals.
This pair of girls have been living in Chin Friends for a long time, and are finally ready for a new home. Huckleberry came to us from a wildlife rescue, where she was in a room with squirrels, foxes and other animals. She was so phobic of people you could not touch her. She has come a long way over the past couple years, and has bonded very closely with Butterfly, who was born here. Butterfly is a social, gorgeous and all-around great chinchilla. This pair will make wonderful family members for someone who is willing to spend time with them. The #1 requirement for their adopter is time to spend with these perfect girls!

Rescue Group Info...
Chin Friends Chinchilla Rescue was started because the exotic pet trade in our country is busier than ever before. With the availability of these animals, many people impulse-purchase them, not realizing the commitment they are making. It gets overwhelming for some, and others didn’t quite realize the financial commitment or time commitment. Some people just lose interest, or their lifestyle changes and the pet does not fit in anymore. There are not many resources for people with exotic pets, and we aim to provide that for chinchilla owners.
We also realize great pet owners are made- not born that way, and each one of our adopters will have access to help, suggestions and any support they may need in the future.
All of our chinchillas are in private foster home, so we do not allow the general public to see the chinchillas without first filling out the adoption application. Once an adopter is approved, we will be happy to set up a private meeting so you can meet any chinchillas you are interested in adopting.
Unlike some rescues, we do not require a home inspection. We do require that you are prepared to agree to some basic expectations, including providing a proper cage, veterinary care from an exotic specialist, air conditioning, and a clean, quiet, smoke-free environment.
There is an adoption application available for download on our web site, and there is a $100 adoption fee per chinchilla. After filling out an application, one of our volunteers will speak with you for more information.
Chin Friends Chinchilla Rescue is located in Suffolk
