Look who is looking for you! We bring 65 dogs to the St. Louis area every Saturday. If you would like to meet this dog, just let us know. We are at PetSmart in O’Fallon on the 1st and 2nd Saturdays of each month and at PetSmart in Chesterfield on the 3rd and 4th Saturday. We are at PetCo in St. Charles /St. Peters on Mid River Mall Drive on Saturday afternoon (1:00 -3:30).
Abby and her three grown pups – she is 2 and they are 1 year old - came to us as a family. They were all loved but their owner’s poor health denied them the advantages that we know will await them in their future. Very sweet, loving, happy and cuddly, they will benefit great greatly from quality food and grooming. Their coats are short (and choppy). They will grow back to that great Shih Tzu look with time and a good grooming. Abby and her daughter, Jacqueline, have great coat dappled Dash coats. Kappy is an all-black cutie whose best feature is his smile. Cookie (not pictured) was the smallest of the 3. Black and white, he missed many a meal while his large siblings dined. He is not yet ready for adoption.
If one of these pups is the pup for you, just…

We are in St. Louis every weekend for an adoption event. If you are in the area, you can pick up your pup on Saturday. Airfare for pups and small dogs is $250 – crate and pre-fight exam included.
Vaccines are current, spay/neutered, these pups are ready to g to a home that will provide them with love and quality dog food.
Housetrained? If you have a fenced yard, these kids will do great. They know to go outside but they will have to figure out how to ask you to open the door. For your pup to be successful: use a crate, go out with your dog, praise “right action”, and expect more of yourself than you do of your dog. Housetraining tips are in your adoption packet.
Adoption Fees and Payment Plans: We take credit cards and checks. Payments can be arranged with a credit card. As with all of our adoptions, we know it is hard to get married on a blind date... even to a wonderful pup. We will take our dog back during the first month and refund your adoption fee less $75. To hold a pup, we ask for a $50 non-refundable deposit if delivery is not made during the same week.
About the breed: The Shih Tzu is a dignified, lively, alert, happy, sweet and playful. He craves your companionship and just wants to be with you. He's very affectionate and loves to cuddle and kiss and sit on your lap. He may be sweet, but he knows how to stand up for himself if confronted. He's friendly and sociable with strangers. He doesn't need much exercise and will get most of it just running around inside. He's one of the most popular dogs in the United States. justdogbreeds.com
The Shih-Tzu is an alert and spunky little dog. Happy and hardy, endowed with loads of character, they are royally dignified, courageous and sometimes arrogant. This breed does well with polite, considerate children. The gentle, loyal Shih-Tzu makes friends easily and, although obstinate, they respond well to training. A very alert watch dog, the Shih-Tzu likes to bark, but is quiet inside the house. Clever, stubborn, playful and lively, this affectionate little dog needs to be with people. dogbreedinfo.com
A lively and sweet natured creature, the Dachshund is a dog that makes a loyal and devoted pet for the right owner. Well suited to both inexperienced and experienced dog owners, they are adaptable, intelligent, and sociable. The Dachshund is not the right choice for those with little time to dedicate to a pet, as they do need love, attention, and companionship. Training should not prove too much of a challenge, as the Dachshund is quick to learn, eager to please, and responsive. However, he can have a very possessive streak when it comes to his belongings and food. The Dachshund has a great sense of humor, and can be a very entertaining and cheerful pet to have around. The sharp bark of these dogs makes them effective watchdogs. He tends to get along well with older, gentler kids. The Dachshund loves to be around other Dachsies, and with early socialization should get along fine with other pets. justdogbreeds.com
