My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet miraculous Mercedes! Mercedes is not a true 5th Ward dog, as she was actually discovered in the woods north of Houston. Kelle was hired to trap another dog, but while out looking for it, she saw a very skinny dog with a large, bowling-ball-sized growth between her rear legs. Mercedes was not looking to be captured that day and tried to run, but got caught up in some brush, so Kelle was able to leash her and bring her to safety. We were quite unsure about what this growth was, and got a vet referral to Gulf Coast Vet Specialists. She underwent surgery to remove the growth and it miraculously ended up being benign!

Now Mercedes lives a plush & happy life in a foster home with several other dogs. Her foster home sits on about 3 acres where she has her run of the place. She is a shepherd blend of sorts, around 5-6 years old and an extremely happy and loving dog that would likely fit into almost any household. She enjoys running around and playing with other dogs and is also a very laid back gal. She soaks up love and attention like a sponge. She is a very special dog, one that really leaves a mark on a person's heart & soul. And because of that, she deserves the most absolute perfect family out there. If you think you can give Mercedes the forever home that she deserves, please fill out an adoption application on our website at: http://forgottendogs.org/adoption_application.html Thank you!
