What can you say about a girl named Elsee? Well, you can say that she is a special girl, indeed! Elsee was found as a stray with icicles hanging from her fur, skin problems and matted and smelly. Elsee is about 18lbs and is a lhasa apso mix. She is only about 10 years old, but has lived a very hard life for a ten year old. She has worn down teeth which probably occurred from years of trying to chew her way out of an enclosure. She has a dry eye condition which has limited her vision and she requires daily eye ointment in order to keep her tear production normal and keep her eyes pain free. Elsee is an easy going girl but does not like other dogs that want to be rough with her. She does not pay attention to cats. Elsee is content to sleep and be fed. She is housetrained and will go to the door when she is ready to potty, but other than that, will not give any signals…she does not bark often. Recently, Elsee has started to show a playful side and is responding to baby talk and being excited when her caretaker comes home. Elsee came to St. Martin’s severely underweight but her weight is good now. She also has a lot of missing hair on her back from flea allergies that were never treated. It is unknown if the hair will grow back in fully. Time will tell. Elsee can never be crated. She is absolutely traumatized by being confined. Please no young children for Elsee. Elsee is up to date on vaccines including rabies, is spayed and microchipped.
