Bruce's Story...
Bruce is a 5 1/2 yr old neutered male who was sent to death row when his owner was hospitalized. In hopes that his owner would get well and come looking for his beloved dog Bruce was rescued at the last minute. Sadly Bruce's owner never came to claim him. Bruce has been in his foster home for close to a yr now and is ready to find his forever home. Bruce is a fabulous boy!!!!! He absolutely LOVES everyone. Men, women, children and other dogs. He loves his foster brothers and sister. They play and at times play hard, but never once has Bruce gotten aggressive during play time. Although he hasn't been cat tested, we think he would be ok with them. He truly is such a special dog whose tail never stops wagging at the site of his people. Bruce's most favorite thing in the whole world is his belly rubs. He lays on his back and whimpers in happiness tail thumping off the floor at the very thought of them. If you're interested in meeting Bruce please contact AmsterDog at 917 689 8414 or fill out our online application at www.amsterdog.org. Thank you for caring about a dog in need!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Bruce, a New York American Pit Bull Terrier dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a American Pit Bull Terrier for sale in New York, or seeking a American Pit Bull Terrier dog from a breeder in New York.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in New York already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a New York breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even American Pit Bull Terrier breeders who help with American Pit Bull Terrier rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in New York paves the way for another one to be saved.
