Chica's Story...
Hi! My name is Chica. I am a young female Chihuahua mix. I was brought to the shelter when my owner could no longer take care of me. I was very lucky, because I went into a foster home immediately - where I live with 3 other dogs and 1 cat. When you meet me for the first time, I appear to be very scared. However, my foster mom says I warm up to people very quickly, and am very loving and sweet. I am housetrained, and I am learning to walk on a leash. My three foster dog friends that I live with say I get along with them very well, and the cat likes me too. I have a fenced in yard to play in outside but I don’t venture very far, I stay close to the other dogs, and my foster mom. My goal is to be someone’s loving companion someday in my FUREVER home. Since I'm currently living in a foster home, you would need to call the shelter and schedule a time to meet me.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Chica, a Youngwood Chihuahua dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Chihuahua for sale in Youngwood, or seeking a Chihuahua dog from a breeder in Youngwood.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Youngwood already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Youngwood breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Chihuahua breeders who help with Chihuahua rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Youngwood paves the way for another one to be saved.
