He loves when you try to chase him and catch him, and he loves running with you.  One of his favorite things was when he was running back to you and you were really still then when he gets closer you jump at him like you are about to catch him and start chasing him.  :)  He is an excellent fetcher and super-fast.  He is smart and knows when he is in trouble, will sulk and slink until you tell him he is ok.  He loves playing with kids, but does get very excited.  He can jump very high and if you hold a ball up for him or throw it straight up in the air he will jump up and try to get it.  He was such a sweet dog, likes to be rubbed behind his ears and even though he is kind of big, he likes to be in your lap while you pet him.  He liked to ride in the car or the back of a truck, too.  He is a wanderer and very nosy.  I imagine that was what he was doing when he left.  He likes to play with other dogs.  When he gets bored or lonely he howls.  He would bark at strangers, but there was never any real danger.  He was very protective, but  I don't think I ever saw him get mean.  He liked to be active and really enjoyed extra attention.  We had him on dry dog food and he did really well with that.  If he was sad, he wouldn't eat as much.  Loved bones and the occasional table scrap, but mostly he ate dog food.  He would bury his bones so he could find them later.
