H! I'm a sweet young girl looking for my forever home! I love to play and run and would be a great buddy for long walks. I will thrive in an active fun home. I am about two years old and have lived with cats and a horse and seem to do well around other dogs.

Shelter Info...
The Second Chance Humane Society has been serving Ouray and San Miguel Counties in southwestern Colorado since 1994. Our mission is to fulfill the vision of loving homes for all pets through honoring the human-animal bond by promoting responsible pet parenting.
We are a private non-profit organization supported by membership dues, donations, grants, and fund raising events. Currently, we fulfill our mission through the operation of a no-kill shelter and foster care program. While in our shelter and foster programs, abused animals learn to trust again, abandoned animals bond with humans again, whenever possible sick animals are healed, and adoptable animals are placed with new families.
SCHS also operates a feral cat, mobile adoption, and other community education and outreach programs. Visit our website for a list of special events and fundraisers.
We're located on 177 County Road 10 two miles outside of Ridgway, Colorado. Our hours are Monday through Saturday 11am-5pm. Closed on Sundays.
During the adoption process each potential new owner is interviewed and carefully matched with the animal that best suits the adopter's situation and expectations, to ensure that both will enjoy a long, happy relationship. Our adoptions fees are dependent on species (dog/cat) and age. All animals adopted from the Second Chance Humane Society will have had at least their first set of vaccinations and will be spayed or neutered, the humane way to reduce dog and cat over population.
Towns of Telluride, Mountain Village, Ridgway, Norwood, Ophir and Silverton; City of Ouray; Counties of Ouray, San Miguel, San Juan and western Montrose - all in southwestern Colorado.
