I am already spayed, up to date with shots, and not good with cats.
This is one of 200 Malamutes seized in an animal cruelty case in Montana. They’ve not had much socialization, so they can be shy towards humans. Being with another dog helps them gain confidence. Their instinct is to run and hide. Tabitha is about 2 years old and 55 lbs. She started out terrified of being touched or of a hand coming towards her. However, with patience and treats, Tabitha has learned that you won’t hurt her. She’s a very sweet girl who would love to live with a large male dog. Typical Malamute, Tabitha will not tolerate a female dog, cats or other small pets. Many thanks to the Lewis and Clark Humane Society in Helena, MT for the love and care given to these special Mals.
If you are interested in adopting, please email MalRescueDE@gmail.com for an application. Once your application is processed, a home visit is required. There is an adoption fee of $225 for each adult dog. Our dogs are healthy, spayed or neutered, up to date on shots, and heartworm negative. Unfortunately rescues don't have the ability to hold dogs for adopters. Dogs are adopted to approved adopters on a first come, first serve basis. Our goal is to get a dog adopted to a forever home so that we can then help another one. If you are interested in one of our dogs, the first step is to request an application, which is typically sent to you the same day you have emailed your request. We process your application the day it is received. The next step is a home visit, and then you will be invited to meet the dogs. While we represent the State of Delaware, the majority of AMROD’s dogs are fostered in west-central Virginia. Contact preference is by email, firstname.lastname@example.org, rather than by phone. We appreciate you considering an AMROD dog!

Rescue Group Info...
We are a group of dedicated volunteers saving the lives of Alaskan Malamutes. We pull Mals from shelters that euthanize, accept owner release Malamutes and help educate the public on the characteristics of Malamutes.
We are all volunteers. Our dogs are with fosters or in boarding kennels. Arrangements are made to meet them by appointment once your application has been processed and your home visit completed.
We have an application which requires references, including a vet reference. If you rent, we require written permission from your Landlord allowing you to adopt a Malamute. Once we receive your application, it is processed and then we arrange a home visit. Upon completion, you are invited to meet the Mals. From you application we generally have a good idea of which dog suits you. Our adoption contract states that if something should happen, the dog is returned to us. Our adoption fee is $225 for an adult and higher for a puppy under one year. All of our Mals are healthy, up to date on shots, spayed/neutered, and heartworm negative.
