Lady Bug's Story...
Meet Lady Bug!! She was rescued after being abandoned in the parking lot of an apartment building in OH. She was very pregnant & was brought to her foster home in NC a week before delivery. All of her kittens have found forever homes & now it’s Lady Bug’s turn to be a happy house kitty. At approx. 2 years of age, she is fully vetted including spay, shots & health check. Lady Bug is very sweet, healthy, playful & affectionate….just a real “love bug”. She would prefer, however, to be the only kitty, but would probably get along ok with a laid back dog. Do you have just the purrfect home for this sweet girl who would rather wait no longer?? ~ Courtesy Post ~

About Our Rescue Group...
Paws4Life, Inc. was established primarily to help care for homeless, abandoned, stray, & feral cats in Union County, NC.

Our county shelter's kill rate is currently 78% (over 90% for cats). Without TNR, stray & feral cats will continue to reproduce & continue adding to the overpopulation & high kill rate. Too often & too quickly animals that once had a home are abandoned for numerous reasons & le...ft to fend for themselves, opening their lives up to many new & unfamiliar challenges with the previous owners "hope" that they can make it on their own. I currently care for 4 homeless cats on a regular basis with a few others that "appear" from time to time. The 4 regulars have been spayed/neutered & should anymore come around regularly, they will be altered as well. They also are fed daily, have basic shelter from the elements & are given medical attention if needed. There were originally 6 regulars but recently we had to find one of them a home due to him developing allergies, & then one went missing for 2 weeks & upon return was limping. It was determined by the vet that she had been shot & sustained nerve damage to her leg.

Paws4Life, Inc. would like to encourage & be able to assist others with TNR missions & possibly start a program in the community that would assist other feral colony caregivers with the basics of caring for their homeless colonies.

Often times there are pleas either through e-mail or Facebook posts for financial help with urgent animal abuse/neglect cases or for assistance with transport of an animal being adopted. Paws4Life would like to contribute towards such situations if there comes a time when that is financially possible.

By example & through outreach, Paws4Life, Inc. hopes to educate more people in the local community about the responsibility of animal ownership & the importance of spaying/neutering. So often people just "didn't know" & if they can be taught & are willing to learn, not only does it benefit them but the community as well & ultimately, the animals. I 'didn't know' about the high-kill rate in our county's shelter until I asked. Maybe if more people knew the facts, more people would be motivated to work towards change.

ALL animals deserve the chance to live out their lives & I believe it is our responsibility, as the more intelligent species, to have regard for those lives. It is my hope, my wish, that more compassion & regard would be given to the lives of those who depend on us; That more people would stop & just "pause for life"!!

Amor conquista todo!!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Lady Bug, a Monroe Domestic Shorthair cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in Monroe, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair cat from a breeder in Monroe.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Monroe already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Monroe breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Monroe paves the way for another one to be saved.
