Hi there! My name is Jake and I'm a 4 year old, 8.9 lbs. adorable Shih Tzu/Toy Poodle mix. I am a very good boy and am housebroken. I can be trusted to be free roaming in the home when alone and I have lived with men, women and older teens but never any young kids, but I love everyone I meet because I am just so stinking cute and friendly. Getting baths and going to the groomer are o.k. with me and I love to take rides in the car, so I would make the perfect travel companion. Thunderstorms scare me and I will want to cling to you. I have lived with cats and we got along great but I've never been around other dogs. Playing with my toys, fetching and sleeping in bed with my owner, are just some of my favorite things.

About Our Shelter...
Founded in 1971 as the Animal Aid Society of Englewood, Suncoast Humane Society began with a few cages where people left stray animals to be cared for. Over the years, our service area has grown to include over 400 square miles, covering three counties: Sarasota, Charlotte and portions of Lee.
Suncoast Humane Society provides a safe refuge for thousands of lost, abandoned and abused animals from our service area each year. We are committed to our open-door policy of never turning any animal away, regardless of health, temperament, breed or circumstances.

We are open to the public for adoptions (or just come to visit the animals) as follows:
Tuesday - Friday 11:00 AM - 5:00 PM (Adoptions stop @ 4:30 PM)
Saturday 10:00 AM - 4:00 PM (adoptions stop @ 3:30 PM)
CLOSED SUNDAY AND MONDAY
