Burke's Story...
Burke is a one year old neutered male long hair Chihuahua who came to the shelter as a stray. Burke is a little on the timid side but once he is comfortable he turns into a little love bug. He has a nice temperament, but does need time and patience to 'warm-up' to new people. He appears to get along with other dogs and appears to be house trained. His behavior with cats and children is unknown. Burke would love a family of his own and won't require a huge yard to play in. Come meet this little man, you won't be disappointed. Burke is also micro-chipped so you will be able register your contact information

If you want to apply for Burke click here. You can then email the application to the Meridian Humane Society.Applications are now being accepted, and a visitation with the dog is encouraged. All applications will be considered and the adoption coordinator will call the person chosen to adopt the dog after the available date.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Burke, a Meridian Chihuahua dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Chihuahua for sale in Meridian, or seeking a Chihuahua dog from a breeder in Meridian.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Meridian already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Meridian breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Chihuahua breeders who help with Chihuahua rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Meridian paves the way for another one to be saved.
