Why Choose me?
Ranger is a handsome fellow with a sleek coat, black mask, and curled tail. He’s a great size, too, at just 26 pounds. Ranger had just come in before I was leaving, so while I spent a good amount of time with him, he was consumed with finding out more about his new environment. He really liked watching other dogs pass by and couldn’t understand why I wouldn’t let him leave the interaction pen to play. Ranger is great on a leash, so someone has spent some time on walks with him. He wasn’t interested in toys or treats but that may be due to his recent arrival to Animal Control. He would come to me when I called him, and he liked attention. When Ranger wasn’t distracted, he’d lean against me while I petted him. Someone has taken care of this sweet boy, so maybe he will be reclaimed. If not, come meet Ranger today. He’s a happy boy, and I’m sure he’d enjoy a walk with you.

Act quickly to adopt Ranger. Pets at this Shelter may be held for only a short time.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Ranger, a Athens Canaan Dog dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Canaan Dog for sale in Athens, or seeking a Canaan Dog dog from a breeder in Athens.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Athens already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Athens breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Canaan Dog breeders who help with Canaan Dog rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Athens paves the way for another one to be saved.
