NEFERTITI's Story...
Nefertiti is an 11 1/2 year old senior girl rescued from Chicago Animal Care and Control right before she was about to lose her life. She is currently living in a veterinary hospital, but would love to spend her golden years in a home of her own. She enjoys human affection without being overly needy. She is happy sitting next to you while you work. She is living with other adult cats and is fine with them, but does not enjoy the company of very active animals, probably because she is completely deaf and they scare her if they come up on her without warning. She is generally healthy, but has an overactive thyroid so needs medication for that. She also has very few teeth and likes soft food, but also eats dry. Please email allisonltarr@yahoo.com if interested in meeting sweet Nef.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

NEFERTITI, a Chicago Domestic Shorthair cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in Chicago, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair cat from a breeder in Chicago.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Chicago already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Chicago breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Chicago paves the way for another one to be saved.
