Cookie the Corgi (and perhaps Jack Russell Terrier mix) is a happy little girl that loves EVERYONE! She has a long tail that’s always wagging and “thwapping” against furniture, and is a an absolute lover. Cookie loves when her foster mom hangs out on the floor because then Cookie can jump up and lick her face!
Cookie is new to our rescue, and was just diagnosed with Cushings disease. We are awaiting the results of the ultrasound right now, but we do know that it is the result of a tumor on her adrenal gland. We should know shortly whether it is benign, in which case a surgery to remove the tumor will fully treat the Cushings Disease. We would like to find a foster-to-adopt home - one in which she is technically fostered while our rescue gets Cookie her treatment, then finalizes the adoption after the treatment is complete. Cookie is 5 years old.
Cookie has the face and body of a Corgi, but the markings and shorter hair of a Jack Russell Terrier. She’s the size of a typical Corgi. Cookie is a bit of a heavy girl for her size, and has trouble with flights of stairs. She’s totally fine being carried up and down the stairs in her foster family’s house, but we wouldn’t recommend that she have to maneuver a 3rd floor apartment stair case. She is a total lover, and is low energy. She gets along with her foster family’s dog, and ignores their cat. She is also great with kids - young and old! Cookie loves other dogs, so a home with another dog would be ideal for her.
