Bailey's Info...
| Breed: | Macaw | Color: | Blue | Age: | Senior |
| Sex: | Female |
Bailey is a 50 year old Blue & Gold Macaw. Her appearance comes at a shock at first, but this little lovely really grows on you quickly! She is easy to handle once she trusts you, she does need some socialization and just a little work to gain that trust. She is very active and alert and is a fantastic eater. She loves her new diet of mixed pellets, veggies and some fruits and nuts; she is not picky at all. She seems to really enjoy being around other birds (multiple birds came out of the same home as her, and while not bonded to them, she prefers company). We have not yet heard Bailey speak, but we were told she says a few things such as "help", "hello", "Bye Bye" and "step up". When we first received her, she was an active plucker; however, we are happy to report there has been no more plucking. However, she will most likely remain naked as it appears she has damaged her feather follicles and feathers will not be able to grow in most places - although she does already have a couple of new little sprouts! So if you think you can love a nudist, please consider adopting Bailey! While she is 50, she has many, many years of love to give you!

Rescue Group Info...
Florida Parrot Rescue is dedicated to the rescue and rehabilitation of companion parrots. We strive to educate parrot owners on proper handling and care of parrots. Should someone be unable to keep their bird(s) for ANY reason, we want them to know there is a place to turn, and that they are not alone. It is our goal to provide a safe haven for birds that cannot stay with their owners or birds in need, and then to find those birds permanent forever homes with loving and responsible families.
Our rescues are located in homes through out the state. We will work with the fosters and potential adopters to set up dates and times.
We require an application which is free of charge, an adoption fee which varies on the bird you wish to adopt. We do NOT adopt our for breeding purposes.
