Pearl's Story...
Pearl is an absolutely adorable female pit bull with beautiful black and white markings, hence her name the “Black Pearl.” Pearl is a very smart, fast learning, athletic and loving. She loves to play, play and play with anyone. She is fine with the cat indoors, however, she does chase squirrels, cats or small animals that are running away while outdoors. Pearl was rescued from a high kill shelter on her last day. She was terrified and huddled in the corner when we picked her up which is quite the contrast to the friendly, fearless dog she had the chance to grow into. Pearl will make someone an excellent companion. She is about 7 months, super sweet, and very energetic. She is good with other dogs but needs a gradual introduction to them (like most dogs). She is great with kids and strange people. She is ok on walks and does not react to other dogs while walking. She does have a little urge to chase passing cars and pick stuff up in her mouth to sample. She is still in the puppy chewing stage and will sometimes chew on things she shouldn't. She is very good in a crate and sleeps all night without a peep. She has never had an accident in the house and knows to go "potty" when asked.

She is ok with sit, but not yet with stay. She is probably best placed in a home with a dominant other dog as she is comfortable being the submissive dog. She eats well and has no health problems. She does not bark hardly ever at all. She has been able to integrate with our main "pack" of 5 dogs.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Pearl, a Livermore Pit Bull Terrier puppy was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Pit Bull Terrier for sale in Livermore, or seeking a Pit Bull Terrier puppy from a breeder in Livermore.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Livermore already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Livermore breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Pit Bull Terrier breeders who help with Pit Bull Terrier rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Livermore paves the way for another one to be saved.
