My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Winona is a 7 year old, smallish at 13” tall at the shoulder, mahogany sable, spayed female Sheltie. She is very friendly to people and animals and would love to join a house where there are other pets, especially a playful dog companion. She is fairly quiet for a sheltie, but when she gets excited she will bark for a little while, and sometimes (usually when she is lonely) she will sing with a plaintive howl. She does not demand a lot of attention, though she is happy to curl up in a cozy dog bed and just hang out. She is housebroken but will need retraining in her new home.

In her previous home, Winona was given free access to unlimited food. She gained so much weight that it has affected her front legs and needs supplements for her joints. This does not stop her from getting around; in fact, she will run at times! She has lost several pounds since coming to rescue and needs to slowly lose some more weight with regular measured meals and exercise. Ideally she should weigh around 13-14 lbs and she is about 21 lbs right now.
