Allie's Story...
Hi! I'm back and I'm Allie. I'm a really smart 2yo b/r natural- eared little Dobe-cutie with a lot of love on my mind. I adore my foster mom, food, toys and foster brother – in that order.
I don't do so well with small things especially if they live in my house. Once I had a real home, but I misbehaved with the smaller dogs there so I've come back to DAR&E to try again. I'm great on leash tho! even when there are distractions. I love it when we play obedience games using toys or treats or even just praise; right now we're working on counter-surfing; food is my Achilles' Heel, ya know? Mom said its not a bad thing which makes me really glad. I'd hate giving up food just to be good.

I'm 99.9% potty-trained – I just don't know if I should believe her when she tells me it IS ok to poo outside while on leash. Hey, etiquette is everything! I'm also crate-trained and I like to hang out in it when I'm done playing.

My only problem is, I really want my own home again where maybe one day I can be the dog who gets the goodies first. I'm not sure about having a big sister but a big brother could be good as long as he doesn't mind how hard I like to play. Kids can be fun but because I play so rough, they have to be a LOT bigger than me if I'm going to live with them. If you know of any homes where they want a little girlie like me, will you let me know?

Gotta go - we found a kitty last night and I'm pretty sure those do taste good! (But, mom, I'm not gonna hurt it - honest!!! come on, just a little nibble??)

DAR&E only places within the Maryland, DC, West Virginia and Virginia area. Please do no apply to adopt if you live outside of those areas. Please visit our website (www.dobe.net) for additional information on adopting one of our DAR&E Dobermans & an online application!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Allie, a Arlington Doberman Pinscher dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Doberman Pinscher for sale in Arlington, or seeking a Doberman Pinscher dog from a breeder in Arlington.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Arlington already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Arlington breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Doberman Pinscher breeders who help with Doberman Pinscher rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Arlington paves the way for another one to be saved.
