Precious- Rescued's Story...
Precious is a darling little dog.
She has an all too common story. She was a spoiled little dog until her owner got too old to really care for her anymore, and then she died, and none of the family wanted the dog.
Coming into rescue, she was matted to the skin all over, coat and skin in poor condition, flea infested, and with most of her teeth rotten.
So far, she's been groomed and treated for fleas, and is looking much better.
She's supposedly a purebred shih tzu, but her coat was a little curly, and she appears to have a little poodle in there. She's about 10-12 years old and weighs 8-10 pounds, she's tiny.
She will be going for a heartworm test soon, and there's at least a 50% chance she'll be positive, which means she may have to be treated for heartworms as well, but what she desperately needs a sponsor (or several) for is her teeth.
Most of her teeth are rotten, her gums are infected, and the few teeth she has left in saveable condition, won't be saveable much longer. It will cost at least $150 to get her teeth taken care of, but could potentially be $220, I suspect it to be somewhere inbetween. I don't think she's spayed, so she probably needs to have that done at the same time, which is another $80.
All together, if she's heartworm negative, it will cost $350-$400 to get her fully vetted and healthy.
Precious really fits her, she's such a sweet, sweet little dog. It's obvious she's already starting to feel better since being groomed, and she smiles and wags her tail when she sees people, and she goes to the door and barks when she needs out to potty.
Pretty much all she does is sleep, either in your lap, on the couch, in the bed, or in a crate.
She gets along fine with other dogs and cats, and as long as they left her alone, she'd be fine with kids.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Precious- Rescued, a Nashville Shih Tzu/Poodle (Toy or Tea Cup) dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Shih Tzu/Poodle (Toy or Tea Cup) for sale in Nashville, or seeking a Shih Tzu/Poodle (Toy or Tea Cup) dog from a breeder in Nashville.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Nashville already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Nashville breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Shih Tzu/Poodle (Toy or Tea Cup) breeders who help with Shih Tzu/Poodle (Toy or Tea Cup) rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Nashville paves the way for another one to be saved.
