Jacque is a delightful 6 year old standard poodle weighing 55lbs. He is in excellent health. He once worked as a therapy dog for his prior owner and is people-centered, gentle, and affectionate with all people..and he likes being a lap dog.

Jacque walks well on a loose leash, sits, downs, and waits on gentle cues. He is content being crated, and he knows how to use a dog door. He is house trained, yet he prefers for his person to be with him when he is toileting. (He prefers to be with his person when she is toileting, too!)

Jacque loves to play with dogs, but his play can be rough and rude. As a result, his family should have no cats or dogs smaller than he is. He will want to be “top dog” in a family with other dogs. He is very calm and self-controlled in the house. He runs enthusiastically and seemingly non-stop when outside; he requires a fenced yard. He is a little anxious riding in a car…he’s been in 2 car accidents with his prior owner, but he has been very responsive to desensitization training, so is gradually getting more comfortable with car rides. Jacque is currently living in a foster home in Olympia. An adoption fee is required.
