Abigail's Story...
*loyal, devoted companion anxiously waiting for family to call her own*

Abigail is 2 year old, 50 lb Border Collie / Retriever mix. She was a stray and found herself at a shelter in West Virginia without a family at Christmas time. She is now in rescue and has renewed hope. She believes someone will see how beautiful she is and give her a chance at a new life!

From her foster mom:
Abigail is a TOTAL sweetheart!!! She loves people, very intelligent, active and outgoing. She is selective with other dogs and doesn't want to be friends with every dog she meets...which we find VERY reasonable:). She is overstimulated by cats because they tend to be furry and fast! She would THRIVE the BEST as the only pet. She needs to continue to go through basic positive reinforcement training and she will continue to mature into an amazing, well rounded girl. She will be the perfect hostess at someone's home as she just loves people!!! Wooden or chain link fenced yard would benefit Abby the best. She is housebroken, crate trained, knows basic commands. She LOVES working interactive food toys which is great mental stimulation for her.

As all border collies are, Abigail is very intelligent and needs to continue a positive/reward based training.

All Dogs Unlimited Rescue dogs are spayed/neutered, up-to-date on all shots, and are given a monthly flea/tick and heart worm preventative. Upon adoption, all vet records and any current medications are provided to the adopter.

If you are interested in adopting, please complete an adoption application located at The completion of the application does NOT, in any way, obligate you to adopt. It is the first step in meeting a dog you are interested in.

Once the application is approved, the second step will be a home visit/meet and greet with your pet(s) Our goal is to find the right match of our dogs to their new family so all involved are furever happy!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Abigail, a Cleveland Border Collie/Retriever (Unknown Type) dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Border Collie/Retriever (Unknown Type) for sale in Cleveland, or seeking a Border Collie/Retriever (Unknown Type) dog from a breeder in Cleveland.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Cleveland already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Cleveland breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Border Collie/Retriever (Unknown Type) breeders who help with Border Collie/Retriever (Unknown Type) rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Cleveland paves the way for another one to be saved.
