My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Gretchen is a darling ~5 year old petite mini schnauzer with a unique black and silver color. She is shy but sweet and loves other dogs, and is looking for a calmer home with at least one other friendly dog to help her feel more comfortable. She has been spayed, updated on shots, and had a dental. Please submit an application if you are interested.

Our 16 little puppymill rescues have arrived on 2/16! Thanks to No More Tears Puppy mill rescue these special little dogs were saved on Saturday from horrible lives in amish puppy mills! The are all adult dogs aged 1-7 years and have lived their entire lives in wire cages having litter after litter of pups to be sold to pet stores. Puppy mill dogs generally are shy but sweet-natured and love other dogs. They usually thrive in calmer adult homes with another friendly social dog for them to follow as they learn to enjoy life in a real home. We have a wide assortment of breeds, including schnauzers, doxies, westies, papillons, a pom, a havanese, and more...Please submit applications if you would like to adopt one. They are in the process of being spayed/neutered and fully vetted.

All these dogs have been neglected and come to us in need of medical care. Aside from needing all their vaccines, spay/neuter, heartworm testing and deworming, the majority are in need of other treatment ranging from minor (ear infections, skin infections, foot pad infections, dental cleaning, hernias) to major (tumors, multiple rotting teeth that need extraction, chronic allergies). We estimate the medicals bills for these 15 dogs to be a minimum of $5000 and are in desperate need of donations to help them pay for them. The mill rescues are expensive and strain our finances in order to get them the care they need, but it is worth it to see them finally have a chance to enjoy the lives they deserve. Donations can be made through the paypal link on our website or mailed to us. Thank you!

We do not have a shelter- all our pets are in foster homes and can be seen by appointment only during the week, or at our weekly pet adoptions every Sunday at the Animal Clinic of Morris Plains from 12:30 to 3PM at 3009 Route 10 East next to 5 Star Car Wash (formerly Boulder Car Wash) in Morris Plains (Denville on GPS). To help us better match a pet to your household, we request you fill out an application on our homepage www.secondchance.petfinder.com and copy and paste it into an email, or print it and bring it to our adoption day when you come. Local inquiries only please- we do not do long distance adoptions.
