Pickles's Story...
Hi, my foster mom named me Pickles because I was a challenge when she first took me in and she called me a real pickle to work with! Now I've become a "sweet" pickle! I am a boxer mixer with something smaller, but no one is sure what. I weighed 38 pounds when rescued, but should weigh about 45 pounds. I am about 1 1/2 years old and full of puppy energy. I am learning to walk on a leash and know how to use a doggy door, but sometimes I get so involved in playing that I forget. I sleep in a crate in my foster mom's bedroom at night. I had lots of "separation anxiety" when I first came, but I am getting more confident each day. What helped a lot was that I found another dog to play with and hang out with when my foster mom leaves home. My doggy friend is very quiet when our mom leaves and returns, so I'm copying what she does. If you are looking for a non-alpha second dog, you won't be disappointed. I have a funny habit that my mom has never seen before. I sometimes sit on my tail so that it is tucked underneath me pointing forward and then I wag it to show you how happy I am! I also love to give you kisses and stay close to you. I would be a great dog to take jogging and need regular walks or exercise to keep me relaxed. I will be a good dog park dog. I seem to have no aggression in me so I should be good with kids. I think that cats are fun to chase, so a home without them would be best. My adoption donation is $200. I will be spayed soon, was dewormed, am current on shots and will be micro chipped before going home with you. Please call or text (925) 209-6480 or email diane@TARescue.com for more info or to meet me in person.

About Our Rescue Group...
We are a small, non-profit group of dedicated volunteers who rescue dogs and cats that are going to be euthanized usually for lack of space. We have taken many animals that have been considered "unadoptable" and have found them wonderful homes with families that couldn't imagine life without them! Our motto is "saving one pet won't change the world, but how the world will change for that one pet" and the person or family that adopts it. We operate through foster families. We received our 501(c)3 status in 2005, beginning in Pleasanton, CA and then moving to Phoenix, AZ. We have animals fostered in both places, so please don't let distance stop you form inquiring about a pet that interests you. One of our foster "moms" has been rescuing horses, so we hope to be listing those for adoption soon, too. If you are interested in volunteering or donating money or other items, please don't hesitate to call or email. We will always try to accomadate you or point you in the right direction.

Our Adoption Process...
Generally adoption donations are $250 for small dogs and puppies and $200 for bigger dogs, kittens are $100 and cats are $75. There are exceptions and each pet's adoption donation is usually listed in its bio. Our pets are usually fixed, current on shots and micro chipped. We have a pre-adoption form for you to fill out and often do home visits. We strive to make it the perfect match, but we ALWAYS want the pet returned if it doesn't work out. Adoption donations are refunded within the first two weeks minus $50, if you need to return your pet.
